Old time drive in; pre-Sonic and A&W as they don't have the speaker menus: a real person takes your order once you turn your headlights on to signal them. we loved it! Had Hi-Boy burgers, onion rings and cheddar crisps. Excellent taste. The o rings especially are a greasy delight.

Delicious meal! I had the Hi-boy (burger), onion rings, and a chocolate shake. The sauce on the burger was excellent as were the hand-cut onion rings. The shake was not spectacular but still good. We sat outside at one of the picnic tables. You can also order from your car like an old fashioned Sonic. I enjoyed the roadside ambience. Overall very satisfied!

Old style drive in where you turn on the light to get service. Had very good chocolate malt and cheese crisp.

Great example of a small town drive in! Burger had a good sauce, onion rings were freshmade and crispy and an excellent peach malt too--no fresh pie though:-(

Great milk shakes and great cheese balls. My husband used to go here growing up and when we were back for a wedding we stopped at the Barrel to get a shake and some cheese balls and they were delicious. I'm always up for some great fried cheese balls and they have awesome ones. If you are in the mood for a shake and some balls and you live in Northeast Iowa, this is the place to go.
